VolpeBot

Last updated 3 November 2026

VolpeBot is the name Volpe uses when it reads public web pages for the people who use it. Volpe is a tool for planning and scheduling social media posts.

What it does

What it does not do

How to recognise it

Every request carries this name in its user-agent:

VolpeBot/1.0 (+https://getvolpe.com/volpebot)

Requests come from cloud servers whose addresses change, so allow or block VolpeBot by that name rather than by IP address.

Allow it

Some hosts, firewalls and “block AI bots” settings stop VolpeBot without any message, or answer it with a verification page (a captcha or a “checking your browser” screen) instead of your page. If you want Volpe to read your own site, ask your host or CDN to allow the user-agent VolpeBot. If your robots.txt turns away all bots, you can let VolpeBot in with:

User-agent: VolpeBot
Allow: /

Block it

Add this to your robots.txt:

User-agent: VolpeBot
Disallow: /

When learning a writing style, VolpeBot checks your robots.txt before reading each page. It follows the rules for VolpeBot, or the rules for all bots if there are none for it. Changes are picked up within about ten minutes. The person who asked is told which pages were left out and why.
